I love make up. I love lip sticks, lip glosses and everything
about make up. I know not all of us cannot afford to own all these expensive brand name lip stick. Don’t despair ladies. I am going to give out a few simple recipes of DIY lip sticks.

What To Do before Appling Lipstick

There are a few steps one should go through before applying lip

·  Keep lips moisturized so as to make lipstick slide on better.

·  Apply a lip primer to condition your lips. It fills increases and wrinkles. Lip primer also makes lipstick glide on smoothly as well as making it last longer.

·  Some people also apply neutral lip liner as a base as their final application after lipstick.

Let me start with the neutral lip stick as it is easy and cheaper
to do. It doesn’t have color as well. All the  ingredients will be available in
your kitchen cupboard.

1/4 cup of beeswax

3 tablespoons vegetable shortening

2 tablespoon almond oil

3 tablespoons cocoa butter

1.  Mix all the ingredients in an oven proof container and then heat the mixture on medium in the microwave for two minutes. Let it melt completely.

2.  Pour the melted liquid into a pan lined with foil and greased with a little oil so as not to stick when cooled.

3. When the mixture has cooled, you can cut it into sticks and put those in lipstick containers.

If you want to add a little bit of color you can take a bit of your own colorful lip stick and melt it with the above ingredients.

In my own opinion, beeswax bar is so much better than using
Vaseline since it is more natural. You can use your own old lip stick container or buy from cosmetics suppliers, dollar stores, craft stores and beauty stores. They are being sold from under $5. Another option you have is to buy them in bulk on-line.

1 1/2 tablespoon of almond oil

2.  Heat in the microwave or a water until the mixture just begins to boil  or for 2 minutes in the microwave.

3.  Stir well and thoroughly.

4. Gently mash the berries of your choice. Let the mixture stand for at about 5 minutes.

5. Strain the mixture through a sieve thus removing all the pieces of the berries.

6. Stir in the berries and allow cooling completely. When cool, use a spoon put the mixture in a clean container.

The mango butter will make the lip stick/balm to smoothly be rolled on.You can find beeswax, butters and oils at craft supply stores near you.The rest of the ingredients will be found in your own house.

There are more oils of different scents and colors that one can choose to use. It depends on one’s preference. I am a big sucker for scents. I love everything that smells lovely and I believe a girl could never own a lot of lip glosses and lip sticks.
